Twistle was selected from more than 100 other innovative companies as the winner of the 2016 InnovationX competition in Florida.

The Adventist Health System and its largest hospital, Florida Hospital, sought out pioneering companies to respond to one or more of five challenges related to the Triple Aim: better health, better care, and lower costs. Executives at Florida Hospital selected 20 companies from more than 100 proposals to present in Orlando to a final panel of judges on Friday, July 29, 2016.

“There were a number of good companies that aligned with our challenges, but Twistle most closely aligned to the things we’re most trying to solve in health care,” said David Banks Florida Hospital’s chief strategy officer and co-founder of Florida Hospital Innovation Lab. “It’s an innovative company, very thoughtful and they have a track record with previous companies. Those were the things that pushed them to the top.”

Twistle presented its solution to Florida Hospital’s challenge related to creating a seamless experience for patients across disparate activities, while proactively engaging them throughout the care continuum. Twistle is a process and quality improvement platform that engages patients with their provider’s treatment plan to improve outcomes and satisfaction for both patients and the care team.

Twistle’s founder and CEO, Kulmeet Singh, asserted, “Getting an audience with decision makers at hospitals can be formidable for young companies. Florida Hospital’s innovation process is an incredible opportunity to engage with not just executives from Adventist and other hospital systems, but also meet strategic investors, venture capitalists, and innovators from across the country. We are delighted to have won, but both Dave and I were humbled as the other companies were incredibly brilliant and innovative.”

Dave Ross, Twistle’s CTO, added, “We are excited for the opportunity to serve as a force multiplier for various care teams at Florida Hospital. And the chance to work with Florida Hospital’s innovative and progressive technology team to integrate Twistle with Adventist’s existing IT ecosystem will accelerate our goal of creating seamless experiences for patients and providers.”
